2003 League Guidelines
Team format this year is co-ed with 5 men and 2 women on the field. We recommend bringing water, light and dark shirts, tennis shoes or cleats, and a disc. Playing barefoot is dangerous.
It is important that players show up around 6:00pm to prepare for the game. Games start at 6:30pm. In the interest of getting games started the following rule has been set.
If only one team fails to signal readiness by 6:40pm, it is considered a forfeit by the offending team. A team signals readiness by having a team on the line ready to play. The offending team is the team that failed to signal readiness. Teams are encouraged to play despite a forfeit.
Games are to 13 points. You must win your game by at least two points with a maximum of 19 points.
Check out the 10 Simple Rules of Ultimate for a quick overview of the game. Team captains may be called upon for rule and procedure clarification, we will be using the UPA's 10th edition rules.
Each team has 3 timeouts per game (maximum two per half). Time outs can only be called by the player in possession of the disc. The disc is brought back into play at the same spot by the same player at the same stall count. All other players may be positioned as they wish.
Items of Important Note!
- Teams may play as few players as they like, as long as they do not have more than 5 men and 2 women on the field. The opposing team is not required to match.
- Individuals that register after the draft deadline of May 12th will be assigned to a team by the League Committee, which will be comprised of the league coordinator and the team captains that are present.
- Pickups that show up before 6:30 on a particular league night will be assigned to a team by the League Committee. Individuals that show up after 6:30 cannot be assigned to a team for that particular evening due to time constraints.
- Once assigned to a team, you are considered part of that team and cannot switch teams without approval of the League Committee.
- A player cannot play for more than one team during the season. Any team that uses a player from another team will have to forfeit that game (unless switch has prior approval from the League Committee.
- All captains are responsible for reporting game scores to Fresa (frisbeefresa@hotmail.com).
